The design for this home started after we found a broad meadow on the Owners' property. It was surrounded by forest on 3 sides, and private. The views from the meadow were tremendous -- a perfect site. We designed a deep verandah, running across the sunny side of the house, framed by eight round columns, and carrying a deep eave to give shade in the summer and snow protection in the winter. The roof is in copper, marked by the pair of chimneys serving the great fireplaces of the Living and Dining Rooms.
